• With lush greenery, fresh air and views of the mountains on both sides of the valley, Rattendorf makes an ideal summer holiday destination. Whether your wish is for something energetic like mountain biking or hill walking along one of the many trails, or simply for ambling along one of the many flat paths beside the river Gail, Rattendorf has something to offer.
• Rattendorf is a farming community with many working smallholdings and it is not uncommon to see small herds of cows being driven through the village. 
• If you fancy a spot of horse riding, visit the the Reiterhof at Weissbriach, only 20 minutes’ drive away.
• If you want a seaside atmosphere, visit Pressegen on the shores of Pressegersee, which is also only 20 minutes drive away, or the sophisticated lakeside resort of Velden, with its swish restaurants and casino (50 minutes) 
• Three kilometres along the road, the construction of a new 18-hole golf course is well underway and is due to be completed in summer 2008. 
• For those wishing  to venture a little further, the historic city of Venice is only around a couple of hours’ drive away, as is the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
• Being only three minutes away from the Ski Centre of Nassfeld, Rattendorf is ideal winter holiday destination for skiers of all abilities, snow borders and all winter sport enthusiasts. 
• The Nassfeld ski area has 110 km of piste and is served by the Milennium Express, a state-of-the-art network of gondolas and chair lifts.
